We are now consulting on our plans for Lentons Lane Solar Farm, a proposed solar farm capable of producing 25MW of clean, sustainable energy. That’s enough energy to fully recharge an electric bus over 66,000 times a year*.
Our consultation is running between Thursday 3 July and Monday 8 September 2025.

What is Lentons Lane Solar Farm?
Lentons Lane Solar Farm is a planned new solar farm in Coventry.
You may remember that we consulted on initial plans for a solar farm at this site in 2023. The feedback we received, along with our environmental assessments and technical work, have been used to shape and improve our updated proposals.
As before, Lentons Lane Solar Farm is planned on land next to the M6, between Aldermans Green Lane and Hinckley Road.
The updated plans are part of the E.ON and Coventry City Council Strategic Energy Partnership – a 15-year collaboration to reduce emissions, energy bills and unlock opportunities across the city of Coventry.
What’s happening now?
We are now consulting on our updated plans for Lentons Lane Solar Farm. Key changes to the proposals since our last consultation include:
- Increased distance between the solar farm and homes on Lentons Lane
- New site access points to help reduce disruption during construction
- Smaller footprint, with a reduction in the overall area proposed for solar panels
We are also carrying out surveys to understand the area, which you may see taking place on site. Both of these things will feed into our planning application which we plan on submitting later this year.
Once the applications are submitted there will be another formal opportunity for you to have your say before the applications are determined.
